And we are back! Mark and I were in Oregon last weekend for a wedding, so alas, no Sunday dinner 😢 This week’s theme was “give the people what they want” and the people want Mark’s chicken parm. I’ve been testing various pumpkin pie recipes, so this was number two! And we sent everyone home with another classic, chocolate chip cookies.
Chicken Parmesan
Original recipe from Brian Lagerstrom. The secret is the Calabrian chilis. We make triple the sauce and use it on spaghetti too.
Salad
Butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, Dijon vinaigrette. Nothing fancy.
Pumpkin Pie
This was Melissa Clark’s. I find it too basic. The spice level is too low for me. So far this season I’ve also made Ina Garten’s and Julia Childs’ and in order my preferences are:
Ina Garten’s - bourbon + orange are scrumptious
Julia Childs - heavy on the dark spices, but a little one note?
Melissa Clarks - not bad, but not memorable either.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
My go to recipe for last minute cookies - as the butter needs to be melted (vs room temp).
