We went classic this week: Sunday gravy with a (chopped) salad and with the official start of summer just one week away, I went fruit forward for both desserts: strawberry yogurt popsicles and orange scones.

Sunday Gravy

Mark has absolutely dialed in the recipe. This week we made the red sauce with hot Italian sausage, meatballs and some pork butt. Everything was perfection ๐Ÿ˜‹

Chopped Salad

I went with Smitten Kitchenโ€™s version of Nancy Silvertonโ€™s Chopped Salad. I forgot the provolone, but honestly, did not miss it. So bright and acidic, the perfect compliment to the gravy.

Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

Inspired by this recipe from Deb Perlman, which calls for blackberries, I swapped in strawberries as those are in season in Northern California right now. The yogurt gets mixed in with a lemon simple syrup which really blends the yogurt and strawberry flavors together beautifully. The result is a tangy, yet refreshing dessert I will absolutely be making again.

Orange Scones

I made my regular scone recipe, but with orange jammy bits. The result was a creamsicle inspired scone that I cannot stop eating ๐Ÿ˜‹
