Jakey’s Birthday Dinner

For Jake’s birthday, Peach made a feast! We had prime ribeye, ratatouille, a potato gratin and a strawberry rhubarb galette for dessert 🍓 Sadly for the dogs, rhubarb is poisonous for them, so we could not share 😭

Ribeye

Jake grilled these Costco bad boys perfectly. We finished them off in the oven to make sure they were warm when serving.

Ratatouille

Peach sliced tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, into discs and then Mark stacked them neatly into two oval dishes. Peach made a red bell pepper sauce for a hit of sweetness and color.

Potato Gratin

The theme of the dinner was disc shapes - in this dish Peach cut potatoes and onions and stacked those, covering them with cream, milk and three cheddar cheeses. There was also mustard powder and seasoning making this absolutely scrumptious.

Strawberry Rhubarb Galette

This had real strawberry taste! I made this Smitten Kitchen dough (using plain yogurt) and used 2 cups of strawberries and 2 cups of rhubarb. I plan on making this again on Sunday, it was that good.
